For a business visa or investor visa, a Sponsorship by an Australian State or Territory is required.
There are different visa streams. It is possible to apply under any one of the streams.
If the applicant complies with the conditions of their stream, they may apply for permanent residency and subsequently citizenship. In most streams you can apply for a permanent visa (PR) after approx. 4 years. For other streams you can apply for PR after 12 months already.
For all visa classes, you must be able to:
- demonstrate an overall successful business career, record of investment or business activity
- demonstrate a commitment to establishing a business or making an investment in Australia and
- show the need to be a resident in Australia.
An Expression of Interest must be lodged.
Once an invitation by the Department of Home Affairs is issued, the visa application may be lodged.
